2nd Birthday

Brianna had a fun birthday. It was just the three of us for her party, but she didn't seem to notice or care! I decided to make her a kitty cake because she likes kitties so much. She didn't see it until our little party and when we asked her what it was she said, "Don't know." We asked her if it was a pig or a bunny and she said yes to both! We asked her those things because while making it, thought it looked more like a pig with bunny ears than a cat! She finally realized it was a kitty! She's having a blast with her new tea set and Noah's Ark animals.

It' a Boy !

Now we don't have to wonder for the next seven children whether we are ever going to have a boy! We are so excited! Brianna's still not quite sure why she can't choose. Before the ultrasound, she would say "I want a sister" one day and the next day it was, "I want a brother." Now that we keep telling her she's getting a brother, she says, "I want a sister." We already bought him a pair of pants, overalls, and a little outfit with a hat to celebrate. I was so excited to find a Once Upon a Child store yesterday! We got to go to Pizza Ranch for supper and Jordan bought me roses! What a perfect day!

Look at his muscles!

20 Weeks

Am I showing yet? I'm to have my first ultrasound Monday.
I can't wait. Half-way already!

Spicy Stuff

The other night I made a mexican meal since we don't have any good mexican restaurants around here. We love mexican and really miss it. The meal was cheesy chicken enchiladas, white cheese dip and tortilla chips. Brianna started eating and said, "It's spicy!" Then about three seconds later she said, "I like spicy stuff!" She loved it and ate it all!

This N That

It "warmed up" to about 35 today so Brianna got to
go out and play in the snow. She had so much fun.
Jordan tried to get her to do a snow angel,
but she wasn't interested!

Brianna needed something different to do, so I got out
some Play Dough I had been hiding. It was her first time to
play with it and she loved it. She didn't even make a mess!

This Valentine cake that I made for Jordan
is my first try at decorating cakes. I have been
wanting to do this for a while and Jordan surprised me
with a set. My dream isn't wedding cakes or anything-just
birthdays and special occasions. I know my first feeble attempt
is not perfect, but it was fun!
Our Valentine Candlelight Dinner

Full House!

Tuesday night we had company again! 12 people (plus 3 of us) for supper!Jordan made 4 pizzas and we didn't have a whole lot left over! It was one thing in VA with a huge kitchen and living room. Our new house isn't very big! Anyhow, it went well and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. They kept saying what good pizza it was and one girl ( in her 20's ) said it was better than Pizza Hut! I could tell she really meant it too! The mom/grandma of the family attends our church and her ex-husband (who lives beside her) comes sometimes too. Her one daughter comes every once in a while, but the others have never been to church. She has two daughters and one is younger than me and has 4 kids! (The oldest being like 9 years old) The other daughter is 18 or 19 and has 2 kids! Both of them brought their boyfriends. Families are so messed up around here! I don't think I need to mention there were a lot of kids in the house! Georgette, (the girl with 4) seemed really excited to come and brought a salad, chips, drinks and cookies. She probably feels like she has no adult friends to socialize with! Brianna had loads of fun with the kids-Nichole is 3, Tyler-2, Clifford-1 and the babies were almost 3 & 5 months. They had a blast in her room with all of her toys. Brianna really loved the baby girl and the mom let Bri hold her for a minute. I'm glad she seems to love Babies! :)

Story Time

I was reading Brianna's Bible story book to her and I was telling her about how Jesus died on the cross. She said, "For me?" I thought it was so precious that she remembered and I said, "Yes, and for Mommy and Daddy and everybody. He died so that He could forgive our sins and live in our hearts." Then she said, "In my tummy?" I guess she has heard about the baby in mommy's tummy a little too often!

What Gluttony!

Last night we had Russell, Virginia & Kristen over to our house for dinner and a visit. (They attend our church regularly.) We all had a good time. Jordan taught Russell & Kristen how to play one of our new games-Blink while I was clearing the table and they really enjoyed it! They were fast! They seemed to enjoy the meal, said it was very good and even asked how to make two of the dishes. I think it was while we were eating dessert that Virginia (very politely of course) asked me if we always "over ate" like this. I about died! Jordan and I thought thought it was hilarious and laughed after they left of course. We had Oven Fried Chicken, Twice Baked Potatoes, Cream Cheese Corn, Rolls and jam and Coconut pie or Cherry cheesecake for dessert. There was enough for everyone to have plenty and a few leftovers, but certainly not the biggest meal I've ever made! I don't think she is big on cooking and sounds like they don't have homecooked meals. Anyhow, I assured her that we didn't eat that big every day, but like to have nice meals for company!

Trees in SD !

Yes, we actually do have some trees in SD! There are a lot in town and around our house. Saturday night there was a heavy fog that left a beautiful frost on the trees Sun. morning. It appeared like beautiful snow-covered trees and of course pictures can't even come close to showing how beautiful it really was! The second picture is down our main street.

Cabin Fever

This morning Brianna pulled out the bottom drawer of her dresser, stood on it and opened the top drawer to get her gloves and hat. (A big no-no) Anyhow, after putting on her gloves and hat, she went around the house saying she was going to see Pappy. Then, I had just been talking to Jordan about who was going to go down to Moser's (Our small-town grocery store) and she went towards the door pushing her baby stroller saying, "Going down to Moser's." I didn't even know she knew what Moser's was. Then she went over by the door, grabbed her coat and "tried" to put it on. She probably turned about 20 circles trying to get the last sleeve on! Then she informed us that she was going to get juice. (I guess she knows when I go to Moser's I bring back some juice for her!)

Of course by this time we were laughing hilariously and I think she was trying to think of more things to say. She came back over to where I was and I asked her where she was going. She said, "To the hospital - Satterfield" She meant to see Grandma Satterfield. When we were home for Christmas, the nurse let her in to see Grandma for about a minute and she hasn't forgotten. She talks about it a lot. I would say she definitely had a bad case of Cabin Fever today!

A Young Girl Once Said...

Brianna was so cute the other day. I was baking a cake and she asked me if it was her birthday cake. (She knows her birthday is coming up and loves birthdays because of a Curious George book and pictures of our family's birthdays.) I told her it wasn't her cake and that her birthday was coming up soon. She said, "Where did Brianna's birthday go? ... Is it hidin?" Then a neighbor lady stopped by and Brianna started showing off. She was furiously riding on her rocking horse and said, "It's driving me nuts!" I guess we need to watch what we say! I was shocked! (And embarrassed!) Then while having family devotions we were singing "Zaccheus was a wee little man" and when we got to the part where Jesus calls to Zaccheus, we stopped and Brianna said, "Zacky, Come Down!"
She's so much fun!
